The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has given Heer's building developer Blue Urban LLC the formal go-ahead to apply for an $11.8 million loan for the renovation project.

Located at 138 Park Central Square, residential units will be situated in the upper floors of the original 7 story building providing the residents with spectacular views of Park Central Square, the downtown cityscape and the Springfield area skyline.
Units will range from one to three bedrooms, with a variety of unit layouts and finishes to satisfy the most demanding loft dweller. Amenities include secure entry, ample on-site parking, workout facility with lounge and a breath-taking roof top pool.
Residents will enjoy convenient front-yard access to the renovated Park Central Square. The 14-screen College Station theater complex, historic Gillioz Theater, the Park Central Library Branch, Missouri State School of Art and Design, many restaurants and numerous art galleries are within blocks of Heers Lofts. Area events will energize the lives of the Heer's residents as the landmark serves as a key element to events on Park Central Square, First Friday Art Walks and holiday parades.
But the activity will not be limited to the residences, as Mike Shannon's Steak & Seafood Restaurant will occupy a portion of the first floor. With additional office and commercial tenants occupying the first and second floors, this mixed-use development is sure to enliven the area and provide a unique live-work-play space.
